“Makeup is self-confidence applied to the face” – Unknown.
2016!!! It’s a new year, new day, and that means it’s time for new make-up! Looking back on all of last years fashion shows, we can make a pretty good guess of what will be this years fashion. And even better, these are the predicted makeup trends of 2016:
- Watercolor blue eyes
- Bold eyelashes
- Bright red lips / Dark vampire lips
Eye shadow of soft baby and watercolor blues were seen in shows by Chanel, Diane von Furstenberg, and Marc Jacobs. The eye shadow on the models makes their eyes pop, especially with a light natural face. This is a great look for when going out for dances and parties. It also looks great on those with brown eyes. You can buy watercolor eye shadow at Sephora, with their brand new color of the year Rose Quartz and Serenity make-up line.
To finish off the eyes, bold false lashes are all the rage. According to Vogue, “For those a few steps ahead on the blue eye movement, Mary Katrantzoue and Tod’s offered up cyan lashes against bare skin…” Whether it be false eyelashes or mascara, bold and dark eyelashes are a must for the season. Eyelashes help to make the eyes seem bigger and fuller, and it helps makes a more dramatic look. Sephora has great products for promoting eyelash growth, as well as great mascara.
Finally, the lips. From bright red lips to dark vampire shades, lipstick is a woman’s best friend. DKNY, Topshop Unique, and Oscar de la Renta brought back the classic look. In contrast to bright red, Miu Miu at Paris Fashion week had plum-stained dark lips. Whichever look you prefer, you can get perfect matte lips and liner from Nars.
