UVU Concert: Loveloud

Here’s What You Missed if you Couldn’t Make it to UVU’s Loveloud Fest

On August 26th, Utah Valley University hosted a Music Festival with headliners Imagine Dragons and Neon Trees. The theme of the festival was to promote acceptance of LGBTQ youth. The organizers of the event were very passionate to promote this message including director Lance Lowry, who had lost his little brother Landon to suicide one month prior to the event. Landon was not identified as a part of the LGBTQ member community, but suffered from depression. read more


There’s a New Prince in the Kingdom

The Cleveland Cavaliers and the Boston Celtics have agreed to a deal that will send Kyrie Irving to Boston in exchange for Isaiah Thomas, Jae Crowder, Ante Zizic, and the Brooklyn Nets’ first round pick in next year’s draft. This trade comes as a huge surprise considering how much Boston was willing to give up for Irving. This benefits Cleveland. They not only bring depth into their roster, which is something they desperately needed, but they also get the mighty Isaiah Thomas.

Isaiah Thomas, the 5’9 All-NBA second team point guard, who is known to be the great Kobe Bryant’s new apprentice, will now take the role of point guard in Cleveland. This may or may not save the kingdom. The Cavaliers have got rid of locker room distraction Kyrie Irving, the and have replaced him with the man who proved himself to be mentally strong enough to play a playoff game the day after his sister’s death.  However, despite his tremendous talent, Thomas will no doubt replace Irving as the sidekick to Lebron James, but for how long exactly? read more
